Die Meta

There's just something about the new Die Hard trailer that I just can't take seriously. I mean, the title is ridiculous but that's really nothing new; "Die Harder" isn't exactly above reproach either. I think my problem is that the movie has made like "30 Rock" and crossed the line and become a little too meta. I mean, it's almost a self-parody with the haphazardly thrown in "Yippee Kai Yay" and bad girl who stops off a bike and basically disrobes.
Also, while I liked the last film, I think one of the reasons was that it showed John McClane struggling to adapt to the new information age. This film makes it seem like he's an American James Bond. I don't know. I'm definitely going to go into it like I did the last film, basically expecting a superhero movie in terms of the shit McClane would do/survive, but I was hoping we'd see a little more ingenuity and less focus on bands. Yes, it's a trailer which is always going to have more brawn than brains but this trailer isn't giving me a good feeling.
