The Tryout: Japandroids

The Japandroids new album is streaming up at NPR and I thought, why not make them this week's Tryout? Then I thought, "Well, because I'm not really a big fan of them." But I'd love to hear what other people think of them. When every song starts, I think it might be something I like but then I almost immediately lose interest or downright don't like where the song heads. I guess one main issue is that I think the lead singer's voice is as bland an indie rock voice as you can get. I don't know. Maybe they'll grow on me or maybe they're just not for me but I'm usually over every song by the two minute mark, but man, I really like most every opening riff. Oh well. (Clearly, I also didn't feel like spending more than two minutes on this post. I'll do better in the future.)
