Scream Poor
Well, I just wasted two hours of my life watching Scream 4 so I'm not about to waste much more time writing up a review of it. To me, it was astonishingly bad. There was one review that said it was like one of the "Scary Movie" franchise more than "Scream" and that's 100% right. From people getting stabbed in the brain and then wandering around long enough to get out a punchline to every character knowing everything about horror movies, the film is just poor. There are no characters and everyone talks like Jamie Kennedy in the first movie. Ghostface's phone calls are all corny; he definitely turned the Freddy Krueger late-Nightmare on Elm Street movie corner into camp. But what was most disappointing is that the movie is dumb. Gone are the days when horror conventions are upped or altered; this film has every ridiculous decision that the first films used to mock. Dumb, dumb, dumb.
Don't waste your money on this stupid movie.
Rant over.
NEXT MORNING EDIT: Yeah, the movie still sucked but I should say that it inspired me to work on my own horror screenplay (since the film had a lot of missed directions that would have made it truly genre-flipping and also I forgot to mention that Hayden Panetierre (or however you spell it) came away as the star of the film. Courtney Cox has crossed the Botox point of no return and she's hard to look at but Hayden was great and she should definitely get a shot at a new TV show, if not a rom-com of her own in the future.
